Nicolay Dorsett began her dance training at the young age of seven in Sunrise, FL. She graduated from the University of South Florida (USF) in the Spring of 2020 with a BA in Health Sciences and a BFA in Modern Dance performance. During Nicolay’s time at USF she has performed in works by renowned choreographers, including Vespers by Ulysses Dove and Prowl by Claudia Lavista. Upon graduation, Nicolay began working as a Jeraldyne Blunden Fellow with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company and in August 2021 she was promoted to the first company, where she performed works like Traffic by Debbie Blunden Diggs and Jacob’s Ladder by Rennie Harris. In the summer of 2023, she finished her first season with the Dayton Dance Initiative and is excited for its future. Nicolay hopes to continue sharing her gift and love for dance with others while being an inspiration for dance artists to come.
