Mia Sanchez grew up in Chicago, Illinois, where she trained at Ballet Chicago. At 17, she moved to Columbus, Ohio to continue her training at BalletMet under the direction of Edwaard Liang. In 2016 Mia joined Madison Ballet under the direction of W. Earle Smith then joined Dayton Ballet in 2018 where she is currently in her 5th season. Mia has performed featured roles in works by Septime Webre, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Penny Saunders, Gerald Arpino, Stephen Mills, and Dayton Ballet director Karen Russo Burke. Mia is currently a student at The Ohio State University, Fisher College of Business specializing in Accounting. She is excited to finally be a part of Dayton Dance Initiative after admiring the collective since its start.
