Gracie Harper

Wright State University emerging choreographer

Gracie Harper (she/her) is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio. She began her dance training at the age of 3 at The Studio for Dance where she had the opportunity to dance alongside the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Gracie also grew up performing with Cincinnati Ballet where she played Clara in The Nutcracker and a Card and Door in Alice in Wonderland. She is a recent graduate of Wright State University with a BFA in Dance and an Undergraduate Certificate in Arts Management. While at Wright State, Gracie has worked with notable choreographers such as Kiki Lucas, Gavin Stewart and Vanessa Owens, Ray Mercer, and Stephanie Martinez. To further her training outside of school, she attended intensives with Mutual Dance Theatre, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Through Complexions pre-professional program, Gracie was able to perform with the company at their 30th Anniversary Gala at The Joyce Theater in New York City. She also danced with the second company of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company for the 2022-2023 season. Gracie is overjoyed that her piece, Floating Towards the End, was selected from Wright State’s Emerging Choreographers Concert to be reset on DDI. She is excited to embark on her first season as a dancer and choreographer with the company, and looks forward to collaborating with such a talented community of artists.
